Family Fun With Friends

With Derrick visiting from Wisconsin and Adam and Valerie nearby, Robert and Kendalyn Staddon invited “The Wallers” over for some fun. Priscilla quickly put together some home-made cheese cake that really hit the spot. Since Adam and Valerie are expecting a little baby we had to aim for foods Valerie felt up to eating. She really has been craving Mac ‘n Cheese. Adam, being quick witted added a few Macaroni noodles to the dessert making it “Mac ‘n Cheesecake.” We played an intense game of Settlers of Catan and enjoyed some great fellowship. What a blessing to have Godly friends like the Staddons and to enjoy such great fun with siblings. It is also nice to have fun evenings like this as the days roll on toward the arrival of our little Waller and Priscilla feels more and more ready for David to take a few turns carrying the baby. 🙂

Recipe: Mac ‘N Cheesecake

Crust:

1.5 C. Graham crackers (We substituted some shortbread cookies left over from Christmas 🙂
1/4 C. Finely chopped walnuts
1 T. of Sugar
1/2 t. Ground cinnamon
1/2 C. Butter melted

Filling:

3   8-ounce packages of cream cheese, softened
1 C. Sugar
2 T. All purpose flour
1 t. Vanilla
1/4 C. Milk
3 Eggs, slightly beaten

Bake in preheated oven at 375°F for 40 minutes. (This recipe is modified from Better Homes and Garden’s 14th addition cookbook)

Top with your own rendition of Priscilla’s famous strawberry sauce made from fresh strawberries and if you like, Adam’s macaroni might be a nice garnish :-).

Thank you for your prayers. Esther and Priscilla talk regularly and as of a few days ago, she was doing well. No baby here yet for Priscilla or Esther. Fun though to have sisters pregnant at the same time.
