Davia Is a Big Sister!

Greetings from the five of us Wallers! Yes, you heard it right. Davia is going to be a big sister and Paul is happy about being a big brother to another sibling in October! We are all so excited and wanted to share the Good News! We found out on Valentines day, but wanted to make sure to get to tell our family before posting it on our blog. Here is a clip of our response just after finding out!

Recently, we were reading about how Jesus loves children. When His disciples felt Jesus should have greater priorities, Jesus gently rebuked them and asked them not to tell the children and babies to go away, but asked them come to Him so He could hold them. “And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein” (Luke 18:15-17).

DavidLovesPriscilla01Jesus points out the simplistic faith of a little child as being vital for salvation. In fact, there are many truths that we learn from the perspective of a child such as the process of spiritual growth and maturity. We also learn so much about who God is as our Father by being parents. With the many mistakes we make as parents, my own gratefulness has grown for our perfect Father who is in Heaven.

With another child on the way, and a house that we are remodeling we have also been encouraged to see the ways the Lord has provided for our every need. With being very careful financially, we still see ourselves spending more than we have ever spent, and yet God continues to provide in amazing ways. This has deepened our love and dependence on the Lord.

For Valentines Day, we were treated by David’s work to a special party with a train theme and we ate different courses while “traveling through Europe.” We were both able to wear our clothes from our wedding. David wore his tuxedo and Priscilla wore a bride’s maid dress that David’s sisters had made as a special gift for Priscilla from our wedding.

Fishing with Paul

We finally took a little break from our busyness with all the remodeling and took an evening to go fishing. DavidLovesPriscilla05

We fished using a simple hook and bobber with frozen corn for bate and caught a very nice sized crappie. Paul was ecstatic!DavidLovesPriscilla06

Priscilla did an amazing job making a home-made breading and then frying it up for a nice appetizer for dinner. All that yummy meat from one fish!
